Today the nonprofit Center for Resource Solutions and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) unveiled the Green Power Leadership Awards (GPLA) to recognize outstanding achievements in the clean energy marketplace. This year, the GPLAs honored SEIA as a winner in their Market Development category.
Modern Infrastructure Means a Modern Electric Grid
As the solar industry continues to grow and America moves toward a bright clean energy future, there’s a critical need to make sure our electric grid can keep up. Right now, we have an historic opportunity to uplift every American community by growing the clean energy economy, but we need bold infrastructure investments to support it with technology solutions and a 21st century electric grid.
900,000 Opportunities to Advance Equity in the Clean Energy Economy
President Biden is right: When you think of climate action, you should think jobs. In order to fully decarbonize our electric grid by 2035, the solar workforce must reach 900,000 Americans. This is an historic opportunity, but we must take steps to ensure that workforce reflects the diversity of our country and allow the rising tide of the solar industry to lift all boats.
The Value of a Solar Job
As leaders in the solar energy industry, we know that every solar panel we install brings us one step closer to stopping the worst effects of the climate crisis. However, in order to meet this moment, the solar sector needs a strong, diverse and talented workforce to power our clean energy future. Because our employees are the backbone of our industry, we are committed to creating high quality, well-paying, stable jobs that families can count on.
Leading by Example: Powering Schools and Public Infrastructure with Solar and Storage
As the White House and Congress work on infrastructure and budget legislation, families across the country are getting ready for their kids to go back to school. We now have a real opportunity to lead by example and make significant investments in clean energy infrastructure that can power our public facilities, like schools, for decades to come.
American Climate Leadership: A Long-Term Commitment to Clean Energy
If Congress prioritizes smart, long-term solar policies, we can tackle the climate crisis and ensure a bright future for generations of Americans to come.
Supply Chain Woes Call Attention to Solar Manufacturing Possibilities
The U.S. solar industry achieved a critical milestone this year, surpassing 100 gigawatts (GW) of installed electric generating capacity. While the industry continues to experience tremendous growth, rising costs in the solar sector pose a major threat to this momentum. Fortunately, there are smart policy solutions, like investments in domestic manufacturing, that can help.
Hot Solar Summer: Building Back Better with Clean Energy Infrastructure

The Solar Industry Commemorates Juneteenth
Yesterday President Biden signed a bill making Juneteenth an official federal holiday, following a unanimous vote in the Senate and a 415-14 vote in the House. It’s the first new federal holiday created since MLK Day in 1983, and as such, it is a big and important step thanks to the millions of grassroots advocates who have pushed our political leaders for change over the last year and beyond. However, as many have pointed out on social media, this isn’t a simple victory, and it’s important to acknowledge the work we have left to do. The arc of the moral universe is long, and it’s our responsibility to help bend it towards justice.
